The Space Between: Where Personal Growth Begins
There is something many of us move through life without ever fully noticing.
Not because we are incapable.
Not because we are unaware.
But because life moves fast, emotions run deep, and patterns quietly take root over time.
We move quickly.
We take in more than we need.
We carry it longer than we should.
And before we know it, our garden can feel crowded with weeds of fear, anger, overwhelm, comparison, uncertainty.
But what if we told you, gardeners…there is a space within all of us that changes everything?
A space that is always there, even if we have never been taught to notice it.
“Between what happens and how we respond, there is a quiet space. In that space, we choose what we grow.”
Pause with that for a moment. Because this is where everything begins to shift.

The Space We Often Miss
Life will always bring challenges.
Unexpected moments.
Emotions that rise quickly and feel overwhelming.
Those are the weeds.
We don’t always choose when they appear.
But we do have a say in what happens next.
Between what happens to us…
and how we respond…
there is a small, quiet space.
And inside that space is something powerful:
Choice.
As gardeners, we all have the power to choose. And digging into that space, becoming aware of it, is a choice we can return to again and again.

What Happens When We Begin to Notice It
When we start to gently recognize this space, something begins to change.
The constant noise softens.
The automatic responses slow down.
The feeling of being pulled in every direction begins to ease.
We don’t have to believe every thought.
We don’t have to act on every emotion.
We don’t have to accept everything placed in front of us without question.
Instead, we begin to choose.
And that choice creates:
More calm within our minds
More steadiness in our emotions
More clarity in our decisions
More connection in our relationships
We become less reactive and more rooted.
Not perfect.
But grounded.

Becoming Thoughtful Gardeners
In the gardener mindset, this is where our role becomes clear.
We are not here to pull every weed.
That is not realistic, and it is not necessary.
We are here to notice what is growing…
and decide what we want to water.
-->Do we water fear, or do we pause and create space for calm?
-->Do we feed frustration, or do we step back and choose understanding?
-->Do we take everything in at once, or do we gently question and think with intention?
These small, consistent choices begin to reshape our garden.

The Quiet Power of Choice
The most meaningful changes rarely happen all at once.
They happen in small moments:
A pause instead of a quick response
A breath instead of an outburst
A question instead of immediate acceptance
Over time, they create a garden that feels:
-Healthier
-Stronger
-More balanced
-More aligned with who we truly are
These moments may seem simple, but they are where growth takes root.

A Gentle Reminder
We are not meant to be perfect gardeners.
We are meant to be aware ones.
Ones who notice.
Ones who choose.
Ones who return to the garden again and again with intention.
Because that space within us…
That small moment between what we face and how we respond…
That is where we pull our weeds.
That is where we plant new seeds.
That is where real growth begins.
